Our House
This is a model of our house, it's just an ordinary house of no special features but it is very special to us. This is because we designed and built it ourselves. In 1967 I drew up the plans on our kitchen table usong a home made drawing board and Tee square. We dug out the foundations ourselves using spades and wheelbarrows then hired a proffessional bricklayer for the brickwork. We did all the woodwork, floors, roofing, electrics and plumbing and then hired a proffessional plasterer to finish the inside walls. After working every weekend and evening we had a topping out ceromoney with home brewed beer! We finally moved in during 1968 in time to watch Apollo 8 go around the moon!
